Nina Mankovitz

 

 

Nina Mankovitz

Nina Mankovitz is the Corporate Manager of Security, Health and Environment for DuPont Canada. 

She began her career with DuPont in 1993 when she joined the Corporate Engineering division as a Civil Engineer.  In 1996 she became the Environmental Engineer for DuPont's Maitland manufacturing facility.  In 2000, Ms. Mankovitz relocated to the DuPont site in Kingston, Ontario, to lead the nylon manufacturing operations.   

In 2002, Ms. Mankovitz was appointed Engineering Manager for the DuPont Maitland manufacturing facility.  In 2004, she became Corporate Manager of Security, Safety, Health and Environment for DuPont Canada.  She is a member of the DuPont Canada Leadership Team, the global DuPont Product Stewardship Steering Team and the global DuPont Security Leadership Team.  Ms. Mankovitz also serves as a board member of Minerva Safety Management Education.

Ms. Mankovitz was born in the U.S.A. and has a Masters Degree in Engineering from Queen's University
   

Vic Pakalnis

 

 

 

 

 

Vic Pakalnis

Vic Pakalnis earned a Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Mining Engineering and a Master of Engineering Degree from McGill University in 1972 and 1976 respectively. In 1994, he obtained a Master of Business Administration from Queen’s University.

Prior to joining the Government of Ontario in 1978, he worked at Falconbridge Nickel Mines Ltd., Iron Ore Company of Canada, Inco Ltd., and Kerr Addison Mines.

At the Ontario Ministry of Labour, Vic worked as the Provincial Director of Mining and Director of the Industrial Health and Safety Branches and  Regional Director, Eastern Ontario, with corporate and program responsibilities for Health and Safety Programs and Employment Standards. He was lead Operations Director for Human Resources and responsible for recruiting and training over 200 new inspectors. In 2007-8 he was appointed   the Ontario Public Service Amethyst Fellow in Public Policy, School of Policy Studies at Queen’s University teaching courses in the MPA, MIR and Mining Engineering: policy implementation, project management, occupational health and safety.

Vic is a member of the Association of Professional Engineers of Ontario and the Institute of Public Administration of Canada. He serves on the Boards of the Radiation Safety Institute of Canada, the Ontario Public Service Quarter Century Club , the Ontario Coalition for Health workplaces  and  Minerva Canada which promotes the introduction of occupational health and safety in schools of business and engineering. He is also the immediate past Chair of the Canadian Public Sector Quality Association.  In 2007 he received the prestigious Amethyst Award for excellence in public service.
   

Tony Pateris

 

 

A.E. (Tony) Pasteris

Tony has had an extensive 37 years of combined Managerial experience in the petrochemical industry and retired from Imperial Oil Limited in December 2005. . He has had diverse work assignments with Imperial Oil Limited including operations, maintenance, project and supply management positions in its Canadian manufacturing facilities. Prior to his retirement, he had prime responsibility in overseeing the management of Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) in Imperial’s Products, Chemicals Division.

Since 2002, he has been the Chairman of Minerva Canada, a not-for-profit volunteer organization that promotes the integration of occupational health and safety into the curriculum of Canadian university Engineering and Business schools. Minerva Canada provides SHE teaching resource material including case studies and sponsors an annual Summer Institute for professors along with student award competitions.

Tony holds a Chemical Engineering degree and an M.B.A. degree from McGill University and is a member of the Professional Engineers of Ontario. He is married and resides in Toronto.
   

Marcel Pouliot

 

Marcel E. Pouliot

Marcel E. Pouliot is currently Vice-president, Safety and Industrial Services and member of the Executive Committee with Trimac Transportation Services LP. Over the last 20 years, he has been leading successful teams to numerous industry awards presented by the National Tank Truck Carrier (NTTC) and Canadian Trucking Alliance (CTA).
His interest, passion and vision regarding Health and Safety have been well expressed beyond his work environment. He has been on the Board of Directors for the Transportation Health and Safety Association of Ontario (THSAO) since 1992 and for Minerva over the last 3 years.
His background as a professional engineer from Laval University and as an MBA from University of Calgary coupled with his experience in construction, transportation, and management across Canada and the USA have contributed to his ongoing leadership and expertise in the domain.

He lives in Oakville and enjoys outdoors activities and traveling with his family.
   

Peter Sturm

 

Peter Sturm

Peter Sturm is a safety professional with over 25 years experience in health, safety and disability management.  He is the Assistant Director of the Workwell Program with the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board of Ontario.  He leads a team of two managers and 24 Workwell evaluators.

Peter has a diverse background with over 25 years at the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board.  He has been involved in areas such as claims management, fraud prosecutions, and has had a personal passion in workplace health and safety especially in management systems and auditing.

He is a Board member as well as executive of the Canadian Society of Safety Engineering (CSSE), as the Vice-President. 

Peter is an elected Governor of the Board of Canadian Registered Safety Professionals (BCRSP), which is the certifying body for health, safety and environmental professionals in Canada.
